Good morning, everyone!

This week’s critical vulnerabilities:
  • Apple has released security fixes for everything. It requires a click for a new license agreement, so you may need to manually check for updates.
  • Microsoft released an update to fix aCropalypse
  • Netgear released critical fixes for its Orbi mesh wireless system

Latest FBM/TikTok scam

This happened to a friend this week, her FaceBook account was hacked through the "Look Who Died in an Accident" scam going around FaceBook Messenger and TikTok. If you click on the link to that video, it will ask you to log in again. If you do, boom! the bad guys have your account credentials and you're about to be hacked -- and your account used to send out that link to everyone in your contacts. This is very similar to the "I think you're in this video" scam that has been going around for at least six years now -- and I got it again just a couple of months ago.

Remember, stop and think before logging in! If you are already in the app, why would you need to log in again to see a video that came through the app?

Cropping and Redacting Images Safely

The SANS Internet Storm Center has published a short blog on this subject that's worth reading.

Have a cyber safe week!
